About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President and Controller to join their executive management team. The successful candidate will be the chief accountant, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, quarterly reports, and the maintenance of the general ledger. This role also involves managing the accounting and back office operations staff, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and serving as the primary liaison with regulators. The VP and Controller will be responsible for providing the CEO and Board of Directors with relevant reports and data analysis to support decision-making and monitoring of the company's activities. Candidates for this position should have an accounting degree, with a preference for a CPA, and at least 5 years' of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years in financial institutions. Management experience is also preferred. The role requires outstanding communication, presentation, and technology skills, and experience in mortgage banking accounting is considered beneficial. The VP and Controller will be expected to underwrite loan applications, manage key vendor relationships, and work with the company's key stakeholders. The position is pivotal in promoting the company's image and achieving its strategic goals and objectives.
