Maintenance Technician

Summary of Job Purpose:

This position performs a wide variety of maintenance duties including preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance, and regular inspections. Nature of work requires emphasis on safe work practices, sustained physical effort, trouble shooting, problem solving, attention to detail, customer service and time management. The Maintenance Technician performs all general apartment and facilities maintenance under supervision of the Senior Service Manager, Property Manager and/or Regional Manager.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Certificates/Licenses:
  • Valid California Driver’s License

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years related experience; strong working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, repair and service.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Outlook, Yardi or an equivalent property management software required.
  • Some residential experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action.
  • Excellent tenant/client focus.
  • Thoroughness.
  • Ethical conduct.
  • Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance including reporting to work on time.
