Job Description

Apex Systems is currently hiring for a FTE Human Resources Specialist with a Higher Education client in the Roanoke, Virginia area.

Summary: Manage the employee onboarding, offboarding, applicant tracking, training, and evaluation processes. This position has responsibility for various employee communications and web pages; writes/edits job descriptions and job ads; handles workers’ compensation claims; leads the employee wellness program; assists with the staff academy; and oversees student employment HR functions.

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

• Bachelors Degree or higher (Preferred, not required)
• Excellent written communication skills with a focus on proper grammar, spelling and formatting
• 3+ years in human resources to include benefits administration, employee onboarding, job description writing and payroll

Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Onsite expectation : 100%

Salary range: $45k-55k
