Job Type : Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Hours: Normal work shift for this position is 8 hours daily, Monday-Friday.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position has the responsibility of developing internal and external communication pieces to promote the strategic marketing and public relations goals of the Association. Community and civic volunteerism are desirable and encouraged.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop digital media campaigns aligned with the Association's goals.

Support public relations, marketing and community engagement goals and objectives within the service area through participation in educational, community, and rural organizations.

Provide support in the development and presentation of educational and informative programs and/or demonstrations.

Plan and produce content for the Association's internal and external digital platforms and social media with relevant and timely information.

Assist in continued enhancement to the EMEPA, East MS Connect and EMEPA Employee Connections websites with timely content and updates.

Facilitate and support in the coordination of employee and community engagement, programs, events and volunteer opportunities.

Assist in writing and distribution of media releases related to the Association.

Assist the communication department in planning and execution of the Annual Meeting including promotion, annual report and other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Accreditation(s): High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Communication, Public Relations, Digital Marketing , or related field, required.

Experience: Associate's degree requires one year of professional, current and relevant marketing and communication or graphic design experience.

Knowledge: Must be proficient with and have a working knowledge of personal computer systems and software including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, graphic design/publishing software and other programs as needs change and evolve. Must be proficient in digital photography, video devices and maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill of evolving digital platforms.

Abilities/Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and make public presentations. Must possess skills in content management and creation and digital, email and social media marketing. Position is required to develop extensive written materials as well as oral presentations. Must be able to design and layout materials and utilize desktop publishing software. Must be able to multi-task and organize work to meet deadlines. Prepares reports and other documents that require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to deal with a variety of people under differing circumstances. Must be able to solve problems quickly and provide analytics on what practices are successful.
