Ivy Tech Madison is currently accepting applications for a psychology adjunct faculty member - come join our team! Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. This is an adjunct teaching position that will require face-to-face instruction on the Madison Ivy Tech campus. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. Major Responsibilities include performing all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes, providing syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and following syllabus content and requirements, maintaining student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook, submitting requested information within established timelines, being available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance, dealing with student concerns and consulting with the program coordinator to resolve issues if necessary, meeting all scheduled classes of contracted course(s), using technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate, notifying the program/department chair in the event of an emergency absence, conducting all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, and promoting the same as an integral part of one's work. Minimum Qualifications include a strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction, and faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction. A qualified faculty member meets the discipline standard through one of two routes: Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, or any other professionally recognized specialty in psychology, or possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology-related courses, including a course in statistics and/or research methodology.
